lyrics

It's getting rather late, the pigs and dogs are soon to bite,
and if you think you'll see me later then you're wasting your time.
At ten I'll take a shower it'll feel like an hour,
look my mantra in the mirror said I wanna have a fist fight.
So let's talk.

Another stumble to the basement like moths to the light.
Another twenty something artist doesn't feel quite right.
She's talking too slowly, difficulty breathing,
Says trouble stays way the hell away these days.

And then she takes another pill to keep the hate away.
Another cigarette hits the mouth. The mask of smoke I choke.
And then she leans in close to me, her breath smelled like gasoline.
Love is sweet, but talk is cheap. So talk, talk but don't call me Confucius.

Sitting by the pool the debt and rules, the slop and gruel.
I miss the days of blunt trauma and being late for school.
So how about a change we'll get our feet muddy in the plains.
She dumps her drink, turns around and walks away.

Another year changes millions but they swear we're all the same,
we'll talk about it at the bars until the smoke fades from the flame.
I'd rather find a good excuse to take a fly or two.
A swirl, a twirl, and then a fall into your windshield.

And then she takes another pill to keep the hate away.
Another cigarette hits the mouth. The mask of smoke I choke.
And then she leans in close to me, her breath smelled like gasoline.
Love is sweet, but talk is cheap. So talk, talk but don't call me Confucius.

We don't take our time,
we don't ever sleep.
It's hard to complain
with 12 hour days.

(See this body with cuts and scabs,
I'd cut them open but you don't like it.
Take this trophy the gold is fake,
they say good job but I can't take it.)
